This workshop, led by Mestre Mestre Alex Rosa, a Brazilian percussionist and active member of Ilê Aiyê (the first Afro-Brazilian percussion group in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil), is geared towards people with no prior experience and no long-term commitment to the project. It is designed as an introduction to Brazilian percussion.
If, on the other hand, your goal is to become part of the official band, the workshop will only be a preliminary step to acquire a minimum base of knowledge and the opportunity to communicate to the director your interest in joining the project and becoming part of the Ketubara Training.

Participants
I travel sometimes for work, I can’t maintain a regular schedule, but I want to complement my life with a musical activity.
My life is unstable on different levels and I can’t commit to a high level of dedication, but I love playing percussion and just one day a week is perfect for me.
I love Alex Rosa’s classes and I want to keep practicing because even though I can’t consider being in the official band right now, I want to stay in touch with percussion in case I can consider it again someday.
